Product Description

We are out of Rhubarb plants until May 7. If you order this plant your shipment will be delayed until at least that date.  A hardy and reliable rhubarb with pinkish-green stems...
Perennial. OP Heirloom. Victoria has been around since 1837, and originated in England. It is reliable, productive, and long lived. It has a gourmet, winey/tart flavor that complements strawberries just perfectly. We can up dozens of jars of strawberry/rhubarb jam and syrup from our Victoria patch every year. It also freezes well, so you can have rhubarb cake in January! These plants are grown from seed - they are not divisions. We never had much success when we purchased and planted divisions, so we started growing rhubarb from seed and planting out plants from pots. We have excellent success getting the plants established this way. The plants are small, however, and should not be harvested from until the second year. By the third year the plants will be huge if properly cared for (manure and mulch!) Folks seem to want their rhubarb red, although we have never noted a taste difference between red and green. We grow these plants from seed, and the color is variable. While we try to select for red, some plants will be mostly green. Rhubarb is very easy to grow in the north, but here in the almost south we plant it where it gets afternoon shade. Our plants are 10 years old and going strong.

We have a 6 plant minimum for shipping purposes. You can mix and match varieties to meet the minimum.

Our plants are sustainably raised in our own potting mix. We use only organic fertilizers and sprays if needed. We have been growing and selling plants since 1997.

Our pepper plants are shipped in individual 3" deep pots. They are usually 4 to 10 inches tall and are ready to be planted out in your garden.

We package our plants with extreme care so they arrive undamaged at your doorstep. Each plant is tucked into its own padded sleeve. The soil in each pot is covered so it will not spill out. A plant tag identifying the variety is included with each plant.

We ship every Monday and Tuesday, from late March into June, according to your location or your request.

We currently ship to every state except Hawaii and Alaska.

We will start shipping in late March, weather permitting. Within 24 hours of receiving your order, we will e-mail you with a shipping date that we choose based on your last frost date. You are welcome to change the date to any other shipping week from late March through May.
